A Poem by Aislinn Gryffin ((Ashes))
"

Just whatever was in my head at the time.

"

A single clear pearl

- a tear-

Slides down the angel's

upturned face

Staring at the heavens

crying out "Why?"

"Why him?

Why now?

Why are you doing this?"

Brown hair cascades

-hers-

on his upturned face

Bright blue eyes

-his-

staring into space

but at the same time

into her face

"Why?"

he asks

"Why me?

Why now?

Why this?"

The tears

-hers and his-

Fall and slide down his face

The last thing he heard

was "I love you."

And the last thing he said

was "Love you more."

and the last things he felt

were her lips on his

and her tears on his face

And then he died

in her arms

from 'lead poisoning'

And the last thing she said

was screamed to the heavens

to god

To the world...

"I hate you."

And the gun rang out

and killed her too.

His angel died

Right by his side.

I agree with Tallulah. This was an amazingly sad poem!! It described everything perfectly, all except WHY they were killed. That would have been nice to know. But it's wonderful just the way it is!
