Goodbye

I wrote this between 1:10 and 1:35am. haha

Tonight we said goodbye

this time I can be sure it was the last.

Why did this have to go by so quickly?

Why must it have gone by so fast?

 

This goodbye did not last very long

there was not much to say.

I told myself I would be alright after you left

and I let you just walk away.

 

Why didn't I tell you stay?

Why didn't I tell you that you couldn't leave?

I wanted to ask you to remain here

but this I did not achieve.

 

I still wasn't sure if I loved you

or if it was just a crush.

I guess I will never know

things went by so fast..such a rush..

 

I suppose it never could have worked out

would you have even tried?

So I guess this is really it.

I guess this is..goodbye.

"sigh".....i dunno why the heart expects so much from every opportunity....it truly fails to realize that some people are never SUPPOSED to stay....

Well done! There are some places where the flow was off, but it was a good write. I don't think anyone knows why the heart acts the way it does, we just accept it. I loved the rhyme in the piece and I enjoyed the message. Sad to say goobye, but it's necessary for us to grow.
