Masquerage

Didn't have as much time as I'd have liked to work on editing, but it's been too long since I've gotten anything up, so meh.

Secure your masks, dance the night away
We've all our own cares hidden from display
The music won't stop until you drop the beat
So keep wearing your mask and living out deceit

We'll all keep up this act until the music ends
Until the truth comes out, too late for amends
We've wasted so much goddamned time at this liar's ball
And that b*****d in the mirror is the guiltiest of all

We'd rather lie and die than bring the truth to light
Because as long as we've our masks we can lie that all's right
But in the end when all you've done is hide and sweat
You've no-one else to blame for your own regrets

We're sick and f*****g tired of each others' games
But not one will drop the mask and end this masquerade
Down to the last, we're cowards in disguise
Just trying to keep tempo with this masquerade of lies

Well, it wasn't so much grammar and spelling that I was concerned about; I usually just prefer to take a few days to think over things I've written to take out what I decide I don't like or add whatever I feel I should have. In any case, it's probably for the best that I didn't overthink it too much.

Bravo! I enjoyed this. I liked the flow of it as it made me think of the music one would expect at a masquerade, rhythmic. And the images you have created are very vivid, tormentingly realistic, and I was capture totally by them. I enjoyed the almost battle of wits taking place, the banter of lies that are tied to these masks your players wear, the mystery of what could lay behind these facades.

As for the editing, the main thing in my view is you wrote something, and as far as I'm concerned you have done it very well. Editing and spell check can be done later.

Over all a wonderful piece, interesting and inspirational.
