I wrote this before my wife came to America, but after we were married. It was simply my hopes and dreams for our future. They have all come true. Wolf_Lord

Springtime of the Pheonix

A Poem by Wolf_Lord

I was thinking of you, and work is just done

Just sitting at my comp, having just a little fun

I find my thoughts of you, dancing rampant through my mind

Forming thus intricate patterns, composed of gossamer twine

The Phoenix is newly raised, from its silky soft down ash

The future is as yet uncertain, yet my dear so is the past

The book it is re-written, each time when we do awake

The possibilities are endless, dependent upon the stakes

The stakes this time; happiness, both ours and one another

Yet inside my heart of hearts, something else did flutter

Could it be, might it be, dare I entertain the hope?

That it is Love in blossom, the wheel and the spoke.

The virgin and the Unicorn, ride through the sky together

Embracing thus all infinity, accessing gates to heaven

Whispers of velvet moonlight, caress my skin with shivers

Thinking of her with tender thought, effervescent of burbling rivers

Spring permeates the air now, and is in my steps as well

Yet, more than just a fancy, though only time will tell

Could it be my search is ended, could it be she is the one?

The timeless sands of Aton, their course is now run?

That she will sustain me when; I am sad and feeling lonely

When my defenses are down, and so easy to make me cry?

Will she respect my borders, and allow me my silly foibles?

As will I hers in return, and learn each other’s likes?

Or will she insist that I change; to suit her mold of perfection

Put me in a bottle along; with the other loves of her life

I believe the mold is broken; for both her as well as I

For neither is like the others, who before did share our lives

Thus the book is now rewritten; the chapters are fresh and new

What we write upon the pages, will be that which becomes true

The possibilities are Endless

Dedicated to my Wife

Maybe, just maybe, you wrote this like an incantation to draw your true love to you or maybe someone smiled on you from up on high and poof!! Good things happen as well as bad. At first I looked at it your poem and thought, "oh s**t, this is a long one", but at the end it didn't feel that way. Nicely done. CD

This is such a beautiful love poem. It reminds me of how relationships can be simple and yet complex all at the same time. People need to remember to love their significant others no matter what; they need to fall in love with their faults. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful and intimate poem. < 3

Yes, we all have faults. True love means accepting those faults and loving someone despite them. T.. read more
The possibilities are endless. A beautiful love poem. Relationships are sustained when we respect the others individuality and do not try to change them.
I love the imagery that you have used in this poem.
