She

She

A Poem by Charlie McEwan
"

Transitioning

"
She will always be a part of me
And it seems that
no matter how hard I try
I will never be saying goodbye

If I could exorcise her from my mind
and cleanse my skin of her
Maybe I would be halfway
To finding the freedom I desperately crave

But she is stuck like a growth
Rotting me from the inside out
Her poison creeping in
Contaminating, infecting and killing me
