No Air

A punch in the stomach

A kick in the gut

I didn't see it coming

Air left me all of a sudden

My mind is running

Many things I want to say

Instead I keep my mouth shut

And I say nothing

This was written with the thought of hearing unpleasant info that just hits you out of the blue, yet circumstances and my stubborn mind won't say a thing about it...

I understand these lines. There have been times when I have been knocked for six by something someone says and can't open my mouth to utter a squeak let alone a response. With me though, it isn't to do with a stubborn streak. It is more that I am left speechless. Relatable write. Nicely conveyed short poem.
