The sterile confident reassurance of the Holland tunnel

The white walls, light reflecting off of them, tiles saying: " we will get you from point A to point B." I'm not sure if I trust the straight matter of fact communication of the curved walls and the bold lines of this hospital like cavern below the water. I don't know if in a moment water will not come gushing in through rapidly shot-out tiles, one, then the next then another. I don't know if as the light becomes shade there will be an easy painless traversing of the length of the cavern. But then I am thinking about the date I just had, and then I'm out- in the dark night.

If I hadn't read the title, I'd think this was an insane asylum....I hate that feeling being closed off in the tunnel, but those kind of dates are killers too!
