Power of The Man

Power of The Man

A Poem by None

I tried to make my name known,

In letters for everyone to see,

It was beautiful, so daring,

But He couldn’t leave it be.

He scrubbed it off, piece by piece,

Watching it I felt such pain,

Erasing the memory of me,

He said ‘don’t do it again’.

‘I just want to be remembered’

I whispered to the wind,

‘We’re all dying too, kid’ said The Man

As if that would be the end.

It's short and sweet, flows nicely, and I love the line "We're all dying too, kid" because we are, some just faster than others.
