Intimacy?

i've been reading a lot of Bukowski and have been inspired by his style.

people keep talking about

this "intimacy". 

what is that 

anyway?

I say intimacy is a 

sort of

comfortable lack of words 

exchanged. 

a comfortable silence.

you can just be

near

one another 

and feel the opposite of lonely...

accompanied? 

no, not accompanied; 

that's not the 

word 

i was looking for. 

it's something 

more like:

shared. 

as though they are a 

part of you.

rather 

than

with you.

"Comfortable lack of words exchanged" This line tops the bell curve of the poem. If you are still tinkering with the poem the placement of this line is important.

You made this aural by using speech patterns readily picked up upon - nicely done because poetry IS aural. Sharing a coffee across a table "feels" right and we would speak of many things - thought-fully.
