i worry about her

i worry about her

A Poem by victor adeniran
"

save nature whilst she could

"

                  I WORRY ABOUT HER

What if there was another world I could live in, a world like this

But a world more mature, with sanity, meaning and peace

We are all up an about, doing evil and making Mother Nature cry

But the question I ask is why?

If she had a choice, she would choose never to carry us on her back

She gave us everything we wanted, the things we created are what we lack

I worry about her and I fear that I’m alone

Mother! Why do you choose to stay when you have the right to go?

The best things in life are for free

The trees the lands the oceans and everything we see

This best things are the things you gave

For that reason, we choose to send you to your grave

I worry about her I swear I do

But to lie and say that I am innocent only makes me a fool

I take you for granted just like everyone else

And the thought of this only brings me to tears

I'm sure everyone's outlook changes with their place of birth, in American cities trees are a rarity other than the few city parks that we continue to take for granted. We're only given one earth and it's a tragedy that we ALL treat it so disrespectfully. In regards to your piece however I like the personification of Mother Nature and the humanity that bleeds into the idea of her.

Well written! A beautiful message which falls short on some ears...how long can we survive if we make this earth barren and never give back and in reality who are we to think we have the right! Well done

Excellent piece on the environment and climate change? Yes, I think when any rational person stops to consider, we know we are raping and pillaging the earth constantly. Will it stop, I don't think so, and I am as guilty as anyone else. Good write, my friend, sad content. Cheers!
