Hidden

Hidden

A Poem by Angelica

Nails dug deep into my skin turn black
as what flows inside spills onto the surface.
The vines of your roses wrap around my body
pricking delicate cuts that choke
and suffocate the words I mean to say.

“Iloveyou” is everything I wish you’d here
every time I see your darling eyes,
but I swallow the words like water
hiding in another person that cares,
but shows no love.

Sick of drowning in an invisible sea,
I want to be the one to fulfill your hearts,
but I sit the ugly duckling
as you need your swan.
