Bound-Rebound

A Poem by Emily Rose
"

Life is crazy sometimes.

"

Bound-Rebound

We are
          tumbling upward
— hand over foot —
through the vast openness of heaven’s dome
where there is only a shadow of what was
wrapped in the silence of our trembling.

We are
          falling skyward
— eye over sole —
with nothing to cling to but loss of control,
with no other comfort than blind faith (acceptance)
and the release of the ever-present “Unless…”

We are
          descending higher
— head over heart —
thrown through the unknown, dizzy with doubt;
awaiting the sting of gravity (praying it won’t come)
crying to God to give us direction,

but until then
          we are
                    tumbling…
