Deloitte in partnership with APSCo has recently published a report revealing the real shape of the UK recruitment market. Widely known as the landmark survey, it is the first report of its kind offering overarching data about the operational and financial performance of the industry as a whole. 100 top recruitment consultancies from all across the UK participated in this survey and make sincere efforts to share insights into the growth, efficiency and revenue of the dynamic job market of the country. Some of the most important findings of this market research are as follows:
1) Around 72% of the companies surveyed claimed a significant rise in net fee income (NFI) throughout the year 2) Around two-thirds of the professional firms surveyed (61%) are determined to open new branches in 2014 3) Offshore offices produce about 5 times more NFI than offices performing international sales from the UK 4) Approximately 70% of the surveyed firms claim financial growth and 66% rise in headcounts as the biggest challenge in the upcoming years 5) 21% firms find it challenging to make complete use of social media for business purposes. The survey results can help companies to enhance their understanding of their market position and operational efficiency, which in turn help them on the right factors in order to move ahead in their niche. The report also conveys that the recruitment industry is undergoing a positive swing as most of the companies have shown business growth in last 12 months. It also concludes that spending your time and money in social media as well as online market help firm recruit right talent. According to the REC (the Recruitment and Employment Confederation) the UK job market is set to exceed the benchmark of £26.5 billion in 2012/13 with a growth rate of 7.3% in 2013/14, 8.3% in 2014/15 and 9.6% in 2015/16. So, the UK job market will overstep its pre-recession peak by the end of March in the year 2014. “The year to April 2013 saw growth for both temporary and permanent recruitment, with the temporary/contract market achieving its highest annual turnover since records began”, says Kevin Green, chief executive at REC. If you are a recruitment consultant who is keen to know why and how effective recruitment research can help your business, watch out the next show of Martin Lee, on 11th December.
