Why Should I Get Out Of Bed?

Why Should I Get Out Of Bed?

A Poem by Alene Parr
"

Daily struggle.

"

Life

Is only what it seems.

Smiles,

Remnants of a dream.

Fingertips brush the edge of

The sun.

Over time the ribbon has come

Undone.

Outside, sunshine

Feels like rain.

My arrow like

A weather vane.

And if I wake

And I’m not dead

Why should I

Get out of bed?
