On a Stage of Emptiness

On a Stage of Emptiness

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

usually the loudest voice

"
On a Stage of Emptiness

A peculiar noise in his holler,
The din lies among empty lines
He stood on an alter of the stage
projecting words of his simple play
grinding in passion, slumped in foul light,
He rendered insights that cut with a knife.
Act two transition became a bravado of sorts
a realization that the play was all spent
He closed the curtain as he bowed in vain
For no one heard his empty bowel refrain.

Usually the loudest voice carries the weakest message, in my experience because it gets lost in the flash.

This works so well on two levels … the best message contains the seed of humour.

Whispers are the best!

Thanks Jacob!

those who speak the loudest are often ignored, we turn away...

the quiet ones usually have much more of substance to say...so we listen harder to them...
