My Plight

My Plight

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

it's hard writing flat

"

My Plight

Life or death in the coffin
Take your pick
Either way it's eternal
and dark as a night

I limped into my box
Velvet lining and all that trim
Purple felt wondering around corners
Night time heading for a lowered lid

Meanwhile I'm writing on my iPad
The light feeding my soul
I hope all people will understand
My crazy crazy plight of woe.

Thanks Margie!

Poets write to die a little: veterans think about their dead comrades sometimes wanting to visit them.

Very unusual point of view . . . not altogether sure how to picture this scenario in spots, but it reminds me of the feeling of waiting for that final seemingly-blissful release. Good job to present your msg in an unexpected way! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thanks Jacob!

I hear a little Paul Simon echo!
