Words

A Poem by Alli
"

Often times, I'm scared to voice my true opinions and feelings- this poem expresses that fear of rejection.

"

I have so much to say.

Words-

Formless masses,

Billowing up in my heart as emotions.

But how to let them out?

How to bring my deepest

Thoughts

Desires

Fears

Into a harsh and cold world?

How to be fearless?

Quickly,

Pencil and paper

Scratch,scratch,scratch

Quickly,

Before the fear returns.

prowling

For it’s newest prey

Shhhhh…

I hear it coming.

Soft padded feet

Carrying the scars of the world:

Broken hearts

Disbelief

Failure

Quickly,

Lock the pages

Stuff the words back down,

Throw away the key

Quickly,

The moment of brave passes.
