In the shallows of a broken heart swims....

In the shallows of a broken heart swims....

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Dancing in the shallows of mind
that float day dreaming
in the pool of shadows,
thoughts follow me
encircled by ripples of grey.
I gather memories
like flowers picked
drifting from echoes past
that disappear....
as the moon waves
the silver wand
acknowledging the
rise of the sun
and all that is....
past is past
once again,
night falls.
As love sits back
and laughs on its pending doom,
hope crawls along the broken hearted
sewing the heart in need of mending
that is now crying.
In a pool of sorrow
tears swim.
