A hitchhikers guide to no-where!

A hitchhikers guide to no-where!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Only when the stone
fell on him did he realise
he was in the Stone Age.

Luckily his friend, Neanderthal
stood aside surviving death
only to become extinct
through climate change.
So much for the bigger brain!

Lastly, what of Homo sapiens
rulers of our own demise,
again through climate change,
or maybe a war
to put an end to us all.
I wonder if Homo is short for homeless?

Anyway, the future looks bleak
with Mother Earth waving goodbye,
we'll all be space bums at a space station
at a space stop all waiting
to hitch a ride to nowhere in particular.

I wonder,
what the man in the moon
will think then
as he watches
tens of thousands of monoliths
from graves floating by?
