The Pen

Much more like a human than you think

The Pen

Spilling ink

Onto blank paper

Making letters breath

Creating life

Whole new worlds

and characters come to be

With the write words

Written by the pen

Words can change minds

Change lives

Change the world

Or one thing at a time

For better or for worse

The pen creates the written word

Which can be empowering

Or can tear you down

Can be inspiring or depressing

Happy or sad

For better or for worse

can be read and preserved

Can break a heart

Or make one soar

Can make a face light up

or open a door

So many things are possible

And yet unsure

But just remember

the pen has power

To build up

or to destroy

Author's Note

I wanted to compare the things a pen could do and cause to a human...I don't know if that works because we control the pen I guess...But whatever, whether it makes sense or I succeeded I don't care I really like this poem and I hope you do too. ;)

Actually and quite honestly, you have nailed it... (Even if it did not make sense) who has the right to say what poetry is supposed be all the time anyway.

I have (just recently) read many of your works, I, must say am impressed... Your words inspire hope, acceptance, love, and overall great feeling inside.

^Those were my favorite lines becuase they were so true. A few words can change so many things in life. The poem was gret and I agree with Legacy you nailed it. Very well done and keep up the great work!
