When I Get to Heaven

When I Get to Heaven

A Poem by A. Lee

When I'm walking up to heaven,

And when I get to the gates,

God himself will stop me,

And say he'd made a mistake.

Then he'll snap his fingers twice

And the stairs beneath my feet,

will vanish like the dewfall

Sitting in the summer's heat.

Down and down and down I'll go,

Steadily gaining more speed.

Then the ground will open up

I'll prepare to pay for my deeds.

I'll enter in to Hell at last

The devil will show me my room.

then I'll sit and rot in flames

Forever living out my doom.

Is that the plan for when I die?

Is that what you're trying to sell?

That just because of who I love

I'll be tortured forever in Hell?

Where in your bible does it say that God told us,

Who we can and can't love?

We're all just people,

and people alone,

You're not God,

so don't act like a judge.
