(will to) Understand

A Poem by annalysiar

Why don't you kick with me
down these wicked streets
let us beseech
your illuminati.
The sins of life
A lustful dance of strife
Starving children
abused and neglected
Hungry millions
confused and selected.
Come and walk with me
through these wicked streets
let us burn the night
we won't go down without a fight.
Come and take my hand
and well make our stand
Let is stop the sins of life
the luring dance of strife.
Confused children
lost without a clue
befuddled millions
confronted by the truth.
Come and dance with me
along these wicked streets
Take my hand
and move with the land.
Similar yet different we are
so close yet so very far
Hispanic, black, white, Muslim, Asian, Native
it matters not
Gay, lesbian, bi sexual, straight
Love is all we've got
So come and kick with me
down these wicked streets.
war and hatred may happen...
but it shan't detour the will to understand.

Amazing message. If only listened, heard, and heeded by those who don't understand.
