Might-have-been

Might-have-been

A Poem by Carly

You couldn’t be more vain

I see the way you hurt inside

If only you would open your eyes

I could show you

The darkness could have a light

We could shine so bright

I’d shine down on you

But you’d ashen my aurora

You pictured something better

Well take another picture

Only you would know how

I know I’ve never fallen

But perhaps it’s safer that way

You wouldn’t be there to catch me

I wouldn’t be here to stay

Your apologies are exhausting

Your behavior is alarming

The ice I’m standing on is cracking

But you sure as hell are charming

Uncertain of what path I should take

Why must you give me this heartache?

I’m only giving you my entire soul

But you’re turning my heart to coal

I’d carry you with me to the future

If I had it in me

I hope you find a way to smile

I hope you feel free

I don't think it matters if you are moving towards some great all knowing destination in life as long as you know exactly what you want. I am who I am, I don't tend to fit into any crowd and I don't w.. more..
