These tears

These tears

A Poem by anthophile

There is a silent scream in every tear that runs down this face

The tear might seem harmless due to the liquid it contains

Though, the sodium and liquid dry up leaving a clear trace

Oh these tears...

What does I think...? A silent salute to suffering on the back of a lone teardrop... Or every teardrop... A clear trace, but a salty taste...

A short but moving piece. I also like how you refer to yourself indirectly in the piece, "this face", which inflicts an almost eerie feeling to the piece. Can't wait to read more!

I think theres a danger in starting to break down components parts of bodily fluids - for example - did you know that tear fluid contains water, mucin, lipids, lysozyme, lactoferrin, lipocalin, lacritin, immunoglobulins, glucose, urea, sodium, and potassium...
I think naming any chem takes away from this one.
