Ever Changing Love

 EVER CHANGING LOVE

My love is ever changing

As the sun makes the shadows move

And the stars at night circle in the heavens

So does my love for you.

Upon waking I find you next to me

My love for you is of companionship

Partners throughout the day

Joined forces against the world

~

If you’re feeling unwell or hurt

My love for you is of compassion

Making you chicken soup

Bandaging your wound.

~

If anyone should dare to malign you

My love for you is fierce and protective

Ready to battle and wage war

Always watching your back

~

When you give me that certain look

My love for you is that of a concubine

Willing to do anything to please you

Watching for the pleasure of release on your face

~

When I see you happy, doing what you love

My love for you is soft and gentle

I am wrapped in silken thoughts … brilliant light fills my vision

Warmth suffuses by entire being

~

My love for you is ever changing

Shifting from moment to moment

As my heart quietly watches

Anticipating the love you crave
