A Thousand Movie Scenes

A Thousand Movie Scenes

A Poem by Athena Marie
"

Caught in a false moment; reckless and myopic

"
Climbing up the steps of reason
If this is really stealing
It's as easy as breathing

Sunny pastures behind your eyes
It's frozen where I reside
And I'm a little bit tired

And oh who could forget this
The steps I took to deflect this
Now it seems I'm walking backward
All the same time running forward

Do you hear them calling
Us the villains in this story
It doesn't feel that way to us
Let's blow this town on the next bus

Seasons pass faster than lightning
It's a little bit frightening
When days start colliding

Dusty memories shine like new
You said I will rescue you
But we're still ripped clean in two

my favorite days were as a kid in Vermont running through the pastures with the cows...i was a city boy...but love the reckless abandon of those fields, those days...and reading this made those dusty memories shine again, thank you for that.
also i was reading this i thought of Benjamin and Elaine in The Graduate...

that thought of rescuing each other, getting on the bus and just taking off...seasons pass so fast...and if we don't hop on...life will just pass us by and we will be looking out our apartment window.

excellent piece...can't believe there are not more reviews for this write.
