Pedastal

Pedastal

A Poem by Rebecca Leigh
"

its subjective

"

You think he makes you happy,

but I have never seen you so disheartened.

Forced to remain a secret,

and you say its worth it,

but I know better,

He sings sweet nothings

and makes impossible promises

and speaks of a future,

but his love seems like fools gold.

You deserve the sun,

and he can only reach the atmosphere.

needs a couple apostrophes..."it's worth it" and "fool's gold"

but very well phrased...yes when one is attached to another, but wants to play with someone's heart...make promises he can't keep...the victim of that ends up emotionally broke....

Thank you for reading
Sad reality to life at times that some love and that love isn't seen as the gem it is, I like the ease you write with, wonderfully voiced :)
