The Boy

"Whenever I take a glance at her,

The movement of her lips, the words she utter,

Will she ever know that I actually care? A silly question.

The thought of me existing, the thought of me being there? None?

 

Should there be an instance of me crossing her mind,

A person who is essentially perfect - gentleness and man combined.

Seemingly impossible. But how would she respond?

Afraid and weak, a man like me, will I be found?

 

Will I move and take the initiative to arouse friction?

Or continue to hide in her shadow - inept of attention?

Willing to be her knight yet willing to vanish like a last sip of coffee.

Obviously, willing to protect and be hurt for her sake anonymously."

 

After I asked her all these questions she asked the hardest one,

"Who is this girl that you speak of? She must be the one."

An instance it took me, to regret the things that happened.

What a good day to forget. What just happened?
