Four Words

I never thought I’d say these words
These four simple words
But as time goes by
It’s become clear
You don’t care and you never will

It’s funny you see
Because you’re supposed to love me
Be there for me
It’s supposed to be your job
But I guess you didn’t get the memo

And as the years go by I am finally able to see
That I will never be...
Never be something that you want in your life or are proud of
So I guess I can finally say those four words
I don’t love you
