My world

My world

A Poem by C Burg
"

This poem is a metaphor for how much we kill ourselves to be called poets

"
My world is not your world
You see, I am a poet
I see personification
I hear metaphors
My heartbeat is words
Love is a kindness showed to me
Paper is my life source
I write what I feel
Not what I know
Inspiration is my breath,
The most important part of poetry
I step across the line
From reality into my world

Here, I am free
I am a warrior with my pen
For the pen is mightier then the sword
I defeat my enemies,
Fear, darkness, and hate
Further along I find ruins,
Here lies the old me
The atheist, the self conscious, the anxious
All of them were defeated by a monster named poet Cate

This poem is nice and good for spoken poetry. :) I like how you used the figures of speech in your poem.
