Ready?

Ready?

A Poem by casadejones

Are you ready to leave
like the devil may care?
You let it all go,
as if you even had a choice.
Now, I'm not here to judge
or talk you into something else,
but the sound of your voice
tells me what I want to know.

She wasn't ready,
for the bomb you dropped on her.
It makes a person lose faith
in true love.
But hell, who am I to tell right from wrong?
I was ready to leave my love
not that long ago.
What a stupid choice I would have made!

Ready or not, it's all just a game,
and you, my friend, are making a mistake.
Now, I'm not here to judge,
or maybe I am!
Whatever kind of karma it is,
it's going to burn you.
Oh, but I pray that you do whatever is right for you,
and in the meantime, get ready.

About
A searching soul with wanderlust, I am making my first foray into writing in over 20 years. So often, I feel lost in this massive confusion that we all call life. I have so many questions, and I am of.. more..
