Poacher's Pride

A Poem by Murderous Alien

"

i shot an angel with my fathers rifle

the skin parted like petals on blossoming flowers

i should have set it free

but i let it bleed

i hear it screaming

like late night white trash tv stations

i took it to a motel

i put it on the bed

it stained the sheets with blood

my bodys covered in teeth marks

infecting me with whatever was already inside it

it draws blood just to taste it

holds bones just to break them

its cold on the inside

theres a dog in its heart

with its blurry face and cracked voice gone through vhs tapes

“our bodies are one now”

i shot an angel

i shouldve set it free

its all over me

cut me open and played inside me

made me into taxidermy

hung me on the wall

pinned above my bed like the cross of jesus christ

it watched all of my hair fall out

starved me till i died and i did not cry

i shot an angel

i should have set it free

the sickness of poachers pride
