A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A funny poem

"

Gray was the day you slipped away

Out of my grasp, you left my path

The hours gained power

As they’ve passed on the clock tower

Years have come and gone

Life has moved on

Sun has warmed my frozen heart

Prepared me for a new start

For you, my vengeance has turned to dust

Along with my lust

Time has ran its course

Thank God for divorce

Cute ending, decent premise, good word choice. Horrible, horrible rhythm. Two lines that are supposed to rhyme (especially in couplets) should be the same length, and twice you come closer to double than equal. Breaks the flow and distracts from the rest of the poem. Clean that up.

to me I see the willing to break the emotional chain to truly be free but then there is the legal one that becomes a battle that we give thanks once its over.
great job.

Thank you for your always amazing poetry. I loved the surprise ending. Sometime best way to win. Is to be apart. A excellent poem.
