Tumors At Midnight

Tumors At Midnight

A Poem by Kaden Elias Sylvers

Invisibility is a mask I crave sometimes
I peal it away to be naked
Naked in front of other naked people
Raw, exposed, dirty
secrets colliding at the speed of light

I take walks after midnight
in the boiling city
in the presence of the howling wind
whispering every opressed citizen's
secrets

Poison skin pealed away under the illusion
of non existance, out of body experience
lived every day,

the moon is a bright yellow today

it sees all the people who aren't really alive

and he sits on the pavement
tumors hanging from his chest

the moon shifts colors
with the tide of the sporadic ocean
in the boiling city
citizens choose anarchy over

what you call government

the moon is a bright yellow today

I won't be voting any time soon, what about you?
