7. work in progress

A Chapter by Jordan Williams

new freedoms unlock the cage

infinities played out on the page

mortality can extend

impressions last when they're lengthened

the thought, the paper, the book

ideas stirred til they rumbled and shook

tired of the tried out things

the completion that what he writes now brings

the admittance of fellow man

steels the stance and quickens the hand

moved to say what is unknown

he opens his heart to invite you home

new resolve unlocks the cage

horizons played out on the stage

limits are broken through

fed-up lies nurture spoken truths

the idea, the beat, the chord

anthems sung that have long been stored

backed-in corners are torn down

pin-drop voices now reformed loud

silence no longer screams in stares

the dam unstopped, now streams in cares

moved to share what is kept intact

he opens his heart to invite himself back
