A Poem by allison

our hands slipped into place
I gazed at our reflection through the tinted bus window as your velvetine lips grazed my forehead
my cells turned into diminutive butterflies, attempting to escape my uninhabitable shell of a woman
your eyes drooped low, they were windows to your mind
if I looked deeply enough, I could see bypassing galaxies and every lonely night you spent staring at the walls you closed yourself within orbiting around your brain
you smiled so softly at me
our energy bled into each other, chemically reacting to our connection
we were explosive, hoping neither of us lit a match and watched the other burn from a distance
you leaned into me, kissing me deeply then resting your head on my shoulder
"It's not my fault I don't love you"
my entire body felt as if I had just dived off the side of a building
I glanced at your hands and I saw them glitch
the scene pixelated
quickly vanishing from my reach
I was beside myself once again in a blindingly white void
my ears rang until I could feel my eardrums pulsing
I dropped to my knees, screeching in pain

I jolted upright, gasping for air
I found comfort in the darkness consuming my being
a distant whisper loomed over me, "have a bad dream?"

Hmmmm, I am not sure exactly what to make of the message but I want to try.
I am guessing its forbidden or dangerous love. There is deep burning passion yet the passsion at times can become volitile.
Then at a certain point the love becomes sour and hateful and the mere thought of being touched by this love makes you want to die.
But you cannot escape and the pain builds till you scream.
At some point you wake up thinkings its all over just a dream but with every new morning you realize you have only gone from one nightmare to the next.
