DISTANT DREAMS

DISTANT DREAMS

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

DISTANT DREAMS

Every night she used to dream,
Of her Knight on a steed of white.

In the middle of his forehead,
A silver horn,
On his feet hooves of Gold,
He flew so high,
On his wings of silver.

One could see,
That it was not an ordinary steed,
But the ever graceful Pegacorn.

The steed would soar,
With its silver wings,
Carrying the lovers,
To their land of dreams.

Through green valley’s deep,
Up roaring waterfalls,
Through rainbows of the sun

Through clouds so high,
Till the earth below,
Was just a speck in their eyes.

Past the moon,
And through the stars,
She and her love flew.

Once a child,
Who dreamed of love,
Now full grown and full of love.

She found this man,
In her time of gloom,
Scared and alone,
She wished to go home.

He rode in on a dark night,
Took her to his side,
She did not fear,
For she knew it was he,
Her Loving Knight,
On this Graceful Steed.

Sometime dreams can come true. Take a strong person and luck to keep the dream alive. I like the story and the ending to the excellent poem.
