The Death of Venus

The Death of Venus

A Poem by dark and twisty

Last night I spoke to Venus;

The brightest planet in the sky

Came to me on a trail blaze of stars.

She whispered no secrets of love

Having lost them all to Hate

And his sickly cousin Indifference.

She was fading into non-existence

Drowning in an unfamiliar quagmire

Of abandonment and bitterness

And so she has come to earth

To join us non-believers

Having become one herself.

So depressing that the goddess of love has become a non believer.... without her we have no hope... oh wait, I guess we still have Eros... Hmmm.. I guess I'll take Eros and psyche as true love... I do like this piece but i think it could flow better (granted i've just spent a 1/2 hour reading rhyming poetry so that's probably the reason. This was wonderful! I liked it, Good job!

Eternally Yours,
Kissy The Imperfect Vampire (sorry, it took so long for me to read)

So sad.. if venus can not believe who can? I like this.. because it talks to that part of self that really wonders if anyone at all can keep faith in love..

This is wonderful,
I think all our hearts start the journey as Venus, full of life and love, and then at some point this turns in to hate, which is Ok because it's still an emotion, and then indifference, now this is different, this is not an emotion, it doesn't heart as much, but that because by then we have stopped caring and feeling.
Anyway, what do I know?
I love your poem, well done.

Hmm a sadenning piece... there is athin line between love and hate some even say love is simply hate behind a white sheet.
Wondefully depicted and painfully woven

Lovely. This is a warm, fuzzy poem. Well my idea of warm and fuzzy is much different to most. You have a new adoring fan! I loved the sadness. The honesty. Beautiful.

Faith and hope are stellar lights that once they are extinguished they never seem to return...somehow losing some of their brightness along the way.

A revealing, true to life piece.

Nicely done...

Oh how sad....don't give up on love!

I still believe in happy endings, in knights-in-shining armor, my prince!

Yes, indifference can cost us all our belief, and with the loss of it... our hope...
