Just Breathe...

Just Breathe...

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
"

(Relaxation)

"

just breathe in breathe out

just close your weary eyes

allow yourself to let go...

of your worries, and your woes

let the softness of music flow

in the far realms of your mind

to a different place and time

let your imagination glow

until you can hold a smile

upon your oh so tired face

just breathe in breathe out

just close your weary eyes

allow yourself to see...

mountains vast and vallies green

oceans rivers and seas

forests filled with the tallest of trees

wildlife running free...

just breathe...

This is something I rarely ever seem to be able to do. Even as hard as I try, I never seem to be able to relax.

I was just about to go to sleep as I read this, and I think I may do the same tomorrow night. This is one of the only poems I've read that actually accomplishes the task of relaxation. I felt very soothed afterwards, which impresses me. Poetry oftentimes stirs deep emotions, and with good poetry you feel the way the poet felt while writing (sadness, longing, guilt, etc.) but I don't believe I have ever come across a poem as genuinely calming as this. I appreciate it very much.
