Beyond The Door

Beyond The Door

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Beyond the door...

B eckoning me beyond the door it seems as though

E yes are watching me...

Y ou just never know what evil may lurk

O utside the realm of your own existance

N ight falls and shadows lurk
D arkness surrounds this near empty room

T he door creeks ajar a little more

H orrific thoughts grip my wandering mind

E yes are watching my every move as my fear surmounts

D reading every second as time slowly goes by...

O h what is that scratching noise that I keep hearing

O ver and over again as the hair on my neck raises

R eaching out to shut the door I scream as my cat rushes into the room

Lol.... this is a scary scene you painted.... When i was ever left alone for the night i would have almost every light on in the house and I would refuse to go downstairs because i was that scared... Another great piece...

Scary, this happens when home alone and everything is quiet, a unfounded fear.

Well written.

One for all the cat lovers who watch scary movies or read suspense thrillers at night! Well done!

A bit of humor--I like it. No raven, no boney finger, but only the cat wanting in. Good!

Wonderful! lol. It kind of reminded me of a scene from a horror book I read, Lord Loss. Like in this poem, the main character hears strange noises from the other side of the door. Unlike in this poem, however, it isn't simply a cat. :) It ends the chapter saying "Hell is revealed." Different endings, but the similarities made me laugh. It's a wonderful, suspenseful piece that you've created here. Excellent job on this one! :D
