A Poem by Diedre McLeod

It ended in an awkward silence, Disappointment
You gave too little?
I asked too much?
Why didn’t you see the signs,
the codes to my euphoria?
encrypted with a special “143”

You miscalculated…We miscommunicated
our desires
ill-fated.
Now the awkwardness looms ahead
with dusky hues of Melancholy
Warring Son-of-Ugly

Am I to be blamed for our lusty misfortunes?
The perpetrator of a bittersweet ordeal?
Or do we wipe the slate
and re-write our fate?
to become what we were not
…perfection

You miscalculated…We miscommunicated
our desires
ill-fated.

It ended in an awkward silence.

I loved it. Its really kind of cryptic and computerized and I really dig that. A great piece of work my friend (espically the line "you miscalculated...We miscommunicated/our desires/ill-fated")
