How Many Eggs?

How Many Eggs?

A Poem by Debbie Barry
"

A new nursery rhyme, which popped into my head in the night.

"

How Many Eggs?

How many eggs have my fine hens laid,

Safe in their nest for me?

One, two, and three,

Four, five, six, seven,

Eight, nine, and ten,

And then eleven;

One more makes a dozen eggs,

Laid in the nest for me.
