Politically Charged Poem

"

Thrown into the spotlight at a young age

Unaware of the dangers of taking the stage

Perceived Invincibility of youth

Makes one blind to the future truth

Victory after Victory

Claiming a place in History

When brawn replaces brain

Beware the end of reign

Holding on to memories

Glorious past stories

Fading in to legend

Succumbing to the end

Wearing a mask to hide

The cancer ravaging inside

Too afraid to see

This is the end of thee

Like a child star

The fall is so far

Remnants of greatness for all to see

Oh, America, why must this be
