Dirt Road in the Dark

Dirt Road in the Dark

A Poem by Gordon

The midnight sky spreads her legs
And her full naked moon woos
Strike me down for I hath sinned
And glared beneath her airy skirt
Down the dirt road in the dark
Thumps and bumps and broken hearts
A missive written upon the trees
Let this be my time to shine
Bring me to life one last time
I'll fall for her like stars die
In her sky, a world alive
Before this night shall depart
Come to me, carry this heart
Take my hand and walk with me
Down the dirt road in the dark
