A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the Newest package from Satellite Serenity

erosion,

disintegrating heart

rusted emotions

paint a black and white picture

i repel color,

don't want to see what is

just what i believe

dream

is still there

the tears probably did happen

corrosive drops

clouds of confusion year in and year out

all the she's

who left

so many lefts

cannot be right

but life brings storms

and we try to rebuild the ruins

after so many reconstructions

we get out of focus

HD feelings confound the truth

regardless of the denial

when the circuits are damaged enough inside

we'll see the same image

no matter how many times

we change the channel.

comic under toe, reality vs illusion as the story goes until finally we understand our stupid prose.

thank you for your words and the smile, my friend.

So many channels; so little new to experience.
How often we end up watching an old movie we've seen before--comforted by a god-like knowledge granting us the ability to finally know what's really going on. Unlike being in love, which ultimately bewilders.
Powerful poem!

Those last three lines have so much truth in them. In my case, its the opportunity I blew and she wound up with someone else. The images of what could have been are the channel I can't change.

Great poem Jacob.
