Mesozoic Marvels

Mesozoic Marvels

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Mesozoic Marvels

humble rhetoric

is a prehistoric dinosaur

out of place

in present day

tags of extinct iteration

replaced by exaltation

in heavenly increments

spewed by the gods of political Valhalla's

scorned subjects

find their sentences have lost their verbs

semantics screaming from unaffiliated clouds

somewhere in a stratosphere of eloquent elevation

as we scatter below

pelted by the reign

of the new age pterodactyls

who never fly in straight routes of inclusion

but rather route us with strait jacket delusion.

I can't even bring myself to turn on the news anymore...I don't even listen to the weather channel. Religious propaganda makes me cringe... and societal rhetoric has sent me into seclusion. My children are amazed at how well I tune out commercials when they have the television going and how I'm blind to popup ads on computer sidelines.Hmm Maybe CD is right...I have schizophrenically cut the world out! Well, all that one can anyhow...I love your writings J...they always take me to a whole new place!

thank you, Jon....appreciate that.

Gods of political valhallas idea of eloquence is to deny it ever existed, and that this is how it has always been. But we have lost something, haven't we.
As an outsider to politics in general, having never trusted anyone enough to vote for them, perhaps someone could nominate your good self to write for them...If you think your mind could hsndle that :)
I really like the style of this Jacob, especially the feeling of calm that tells me not a single word of it was screamed at us.
