A Tale of Two Vessels and Trees

A Tale of Two Vessels and Trees

A Poem by geoffgumban
"

I was contracted out to write a compelling, 90~100 word count caption about a photo of my choice for a coffee table book. Since I have always been inclined to rhyming, I came up with this short poem.

"

Oh my boat, you come from me!
Stay still and don't be lonely!
Though the sea invites to play,
...Risky opportunity!
Just watch in all its beauty,
'Want you near, ever to stay;
'Til you become old and grey--
Loiter on this shore clean,
Live life quietly, unseen!

Oh my raft, you are from me!
While you go drifting asea,
I'll mind your security,
You're tethered 'round my body,
So you won't sail far away!
'Be guiding you on your way,
Keep on smiling, be happy--
Linger in the golden gleam,
Enjoy life, fulfill your dream!
