I guess I knew since the beginning how things would eventually end.

Everyone did.

But I thought maybe we could surpass the expectations they, I, set for us.

Obviously, I overestimated ourselves.

I thought we had forever.

But forever was too much of a long shot.

Oh, so many possibilities were waiting in that forever.

So many what ifs.

They will always keep waiting.

But I cannot blame you, or hold a grudge, no matter how much you damaged me.

Because this was always the ending of our story.

And you, and I, and everyone knew that not all stories have happy endings.
