Love Hurts When You Slip

 My heart races,

as I write the message to him.

I'm not sure if you know,

I'm not trying to push you away.

I'm doing everything but that.

I'm holding on for dear life,

but it seems as if the string keeps slipping,

out of my grasp ever day we're apart.

I was trying to tell you,

you are my life.

I do love you.

I could literally feel my heart breaking,

tearing,

aching,

as I said those words to you.

I didn't want to. 

I wanted to keep holding on,

to just believe that we really are meant to be,

that you really are the only one for me.

I guess the string was just to slippery,

and I felt if I kept holding on,

then it would be even more painful,

to let go when that string finally slipped,

and you finally fell.
