A Portrait Of Love

A Portrait Of Love

A Poem by Mario Vitale
"

Love should be the essence of one's existence

A Portrait Of Love

We welcome in the sun into our home
Look for friendships along life's journey
Seek an image at the edge of a pond...
Holding hands as we walk in the park
The thought of laughter marks the way
There is a line being drawn in the sand
A soft touch of white linen to embrace
A portrait of love sent from above
The prayer of a lonesome child in the call of the wild
In the horizon we noticed a rainbow appearing
Scattered thoughts aligned in vast formation
We have come to close not to turn back now
Out of mere sadness there springs joy heaven sent
A lasting ploy to summon a faithful few
Through a dusty pew left desolate in the church
We hurry yet to no avail we are in a circle of things
A portrait of love hangs on over the fire place with care
For I shed a single tear to help numb the pain
Not having you in my arms is driving me insane
Grace seasoned with salt our in the portrait
Help us to find new discovery's of ideal choices
